Shamineau Ministries
relies on the generosity of its faithful financial
partners. Unless specifically designated,
gift monies are applied toward four areas:
1) subsidizing of
operational costs
2) camper scholarships
3) capital projects
4) financial initiatives (debt retirement,
endowments, etc.)
All donations are
tax deductible. Donors receive tax documentation
with giving history, return envelopes for future
giving and opportunities to participate in the
"Director's Alliance."
Shamineau
Ministries is a 501(c)3 organization. Gifts to our
organization are tax-deductible to the fullest
extent of current laws. All financial gifts are
deposited directly to the Shamineau Ministries
general account for use in its various programs
and projects as needed. If you wish to support a
specific ministry, please indicate your desires
with your gift, or phone us at 800-305-8118.
Gifts
can be made in a variety of ways:
Gifts
of Cash
Gifts of cash can be sent by check to:
Shamineau Ministries, PO Box 244, Motley, MN
56466-0244
Gifts
by Credit Card
Currently we are working toward accepting
gifts by credit card on-line over a secure
server. Until then, please make your
contributions by phone at 1-800-305-8118.
Gifts
of Personal Property
Shamineau Ministries has greatly benefited
over the year by individuals who have
donated items to our camps. If you
have an item you wish to donate, please
contact Herb Bloomquist at 1-800-305-8118 or
email
here. A list of our current needs
can be found in our Shamineau Wish
List.
Gifts
of Securities
Usually, when people think about supporting
an organization financially, they
immediately reach for their checkbook.
However, a gift of appreciated securities
may be a better option.
Our current
tax structure can be very favorable to a
gift of appreciated stock. A gift of
stock is deductible for the Fair Market
Value and tax on the gain is bypassed.
This will help to reduce the amount of cost
associated with making the gift and also
allow you to give a greater amount.
According to
the IRS, gifts of capital gain property can
be deducted up to 30% of your adjusted gross
income. Amounts not used can be
carried forward a total of 5 years.
Gifts
of Real Estate
Real estate can be a practical and
beneficial gift. Certain plans allow
for you to give your home now, benefit from
the tax deduction, and continue to live in
your home. Upon your death, the
property will go to Shamineau Ministries for
its benefit. Gifts of real estate
(homes, farms, and other real estate assets)
can complement your overall plan, enhance
your security now and in the future and
honor the Lord. Please call
1-800-305-8118 or email
here for more information.
Planned
Gifts
There are a number of ways to benefit
Shamineau Ministries through your estate
plans. There are several different
options available, each providing different
benefits. We would love the
opportunity to discuss with you the various
options as you seek the appropriate plan.
We will work with you and your advisors to
find a gift plan that meets your specific
charitable and financial goals and
objectives. Plans may include:
Bequest
or Trust Designation
The most common type of planned gift
is a bequest from your will or Living
Trust. You have the use of your
assets during life, and provide a gift
to Shamineau Ministries upon your
death.
Gift
Annuities
For seniors, the gift annuity is a
popular plan. It provides a
lifetime income, much of which is tax
free. You receive a charitable
deduction for a portion of the annuity
in the year it is established.
Trusts
There are several types of trusts.
We can provide information about both
revocable and irrevocable trusts.
Many choose to establish trusts as
part of their estate plans to meet
financial and charitable goals, save
taxes and provide for loved ones.
Gifts
of Life Insurance
You may name Shamineau as the
beneficiary of a life insurance
policy. If you also name
Shamineau as the owner, you would
receive a tax deduction based on the
cash value of the policy, and future
premium payments would be tax
deductible.
Retirement
Accounts
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs),
pension plans, and other retirement
savings plans may be utilized for
charitable giving. These plans
may provide estate tax benefits.
